Post 8: Impressions from the North Island

The last few days we visited many different touristic spots in the middle of the North Island. Here are a few examples:

- Hamilton: a city where one of Marama's friends lives and where we enjoyed a warm shower. The Hamilton gardens are worth visiting!

- Different geothermal wonders: hot springs, mud pools, craters of the moon, geysers, ...

- Maori culture: villages and a dance show. They live next to the thermal pools in which they cook and bath.

- Popular destinations like Rotorua and Taupo.

Every night we camp on freedom camping sites where we can sleep for free. Usually we use our camping cooker to prepare tasty vegetarian meals like curry and roast potatoes. Also we enjoy the luxury of possessing a tablet and hence the possibility to watch series like prison break in the evening. The last nights it started to be chillier during the nights since we are heading south and the summer slowly ends. The advantage: we have less problems with mosquitos ;)
