Our trip to the Keys was not as easy as we thought. We couldn't find a place to stay, all the campsites were full except for one that cost $500 per night. So we decided not to stay there. We also couldn't stop in Key West because the streets were so narrow and RVs are not allowed to park in the city. So we drove all the way to Fort Zachary Taylor Beach, where we could park our car or RV for a fee. However, we were not allowed to walk into the city, only to the beach. But there was a Heritage Festival going on, with a Civil War reenactment and a sea battle. So we watched that and explored the camp, which also had singing and traditional crafts, as well as cannon shots.
At the end of the day, we drove back up from Key West and spent the night in a parking lot near a campground. Finding a spot to stay is not easy, as parking with an RV or trailer is prohibited in Key West.
We spent the last two days at the campground in Miami.
