On Tuesday morning, we set off well-rested towards Český Krumlov. Our hiking route takes us from Černá v Pošumaví to Muckov and then to Světlik. Just before the town, we take a break for a snack and some rest.
After Světlik, the marked hiking trail becomes increasingly difficult to find. Eventually, we find ourselves in a meadow after a misleading signpost. The meadow is in full bloom and beautiful to look at, but there is no path to be found. Thanks to GPS, we are able to find the desired trail and continue walking confidently. We pass through Slavkov and reach Malotín, where we rest for a while and I have a jam sandwich to recharge. Unfortunately, since the village consists only of a larger farm with partially medieval buildings, there is no coffee to be found here. So the motivation is quite high to reach a more populated area again.
We walk the last stretch of our journey for today and reach the UNESCO World Heritage Site Český Krumlov around 6:00 PM. We set up our camp about 2km away from the historic city center, on a campsite by the Vltava River.
Another hike through a very beautiful landscape. The hiking trails seem to be seldom traveled. Apart from an enduro hiker from Bavaria who talks to me shortly after Muckov, we don't encounter anyone outside of villages. This allowed me to let my dog run off-leash for the most part on our 24 kilometers, which made hiking much more relaxed for both of us.
