A museum without a museum

Gipatik: 18.05.2020

On Saturday, we wanted to visit the Suzhou Museum, which is known for its various changing art and culture exhibitions. Due to Corona, you have to register in advance and book a time to visit the museum. That was not so easy again, as there is no English-language website for booking tickets. But thanks to a colleague, we were able to reserve seats.

Full of anticipation, we took a taxi to the museum, which took half an hour, and were immediately allowed in. But then it started to get strange... there were different exhibition rooms, but except for the cafeteria and the small garden area, everything was closed. Quite surprised, we asked at the information desk where the exhibitions were. The answer was: "at the moment, all exhibitions are closed due to Corona, but you can visit the museum building!". After a total of 15 minutes, we left again, as the building itself is not that big...

That was definitely the shortest museum visit of our lives, but at least it didn't cost anything :D

After a short walk, we went to a flatbread stand that we discovered nearby last weekend. The bread was really delicious! At least the trip wasn't completely in vain!
