05/18/2023 Escape to the north

Unfortunately, both the Italian and German meteorological services have no good news on my birthday - there are 2 nasty low-pressure areas forming in our region, creating hurricane-force gusts of up to 95 km/h - simply too much for us and the bumblebee. Today is our 27th day of travel - and during these 27 days, we have never planned far beyond tomorrow. But due to this threatening weather situation, we are planning to escape to the north - more precisely - we want to be 1000 km further north in the next 3 days. We say goodbye with a heavy heart to our dear landlady "Patricia", who doesn't actually want us to leave either. But the plan is set - we drive quickly towards Messina and take the ferry to Villa San Giovanni. After 20 km of winding drive along the Italian coast, we have a snack by the sea - then we continue quickly to Cosenza. So far, it has been very windy but dry. We will not meet our landlord - the key handover for the apartment in a multi-family house takes place in mafia style. The key is in a mailbox under a brochure, which I have to open with my pocket knife. I have to find the corresponding apartment door myself - but we have already covered the first 330 km.
