So I had my first inside shift together with volunteer Melissa, which meant cooking, cleaning and heating the house.

I did my best to help but honestly Melissa did most of everything.
We started the day with setting a fire inside the oven to get the whole house heated. Then followed breakfast, which meant setting the table for everyone and arranging cheese and meat slices. And of course when everyone was done we had to clean everything aswell.

Sadly there is no dishwasher and no hot water to spare, so we have to use water cookers. 

After breakfast, lunch quickly follows, thankfully there was no fix lunch meal since it was sunday and everyone could grab what they wanted from the weeks leftovers. 

We also baked some bread, since all the bread here is self made. We are unsure how well it turned out, the bread looks fine but we haven't tasted it yet.

After we cleaned everything again, we had some free time. Which I used for another dog walk before we started to get dinner ready. The dogs had a lot of energy again and 2 volunteers fell during the walk and were dragged a couple of meters before the dogs stopped. That was funny.

We prepared mashed potatoes with reindeer meat. We had a lot of discussion if the mashed potatoes were too salty, dry or not enough for everybody which took a long time to finally resolve.

However, the dinner was enjoyed by everyone, except the vegetarians because we forgot to make a meatless sauce option.

We finished with some simple pear in puff pastry dessert. And then had to clean everything again...

Inside is not as exciting as taking care of the dogs but it was still fun. Also you get a lot of help from everyone who is at the house from time to time.
