Canada's Wildlife

Hello there,

our next stop took us from Fort Nelson to Liard River. But before we set off, we stopped by Fort Nelson to shower at a recreation center. Since we could only do that by going swimming, we took a dip in the pool first. After that, we were about to leave when we remembered that we left our trash bag lying in the snow at the campsite. So we went back there and guess what we found? Someone had already picked up our trash bag. And when I say someone, I mean a person and not an animal.... So we drove 10 minutes back to the campsite from the Alaska Highway for no reason, just because we wanted to do something good for the environment and would have felt guilty otherwise.

Back on the highway, it was once again a long drive. But this section was by far the most beautiful. It went up into the snowy mountains and the road wound past tall peaks. And the panorama was simply breathtaking!!! We also passed by the frozen Muncho Lake.

Furthermore, we saw a lot of wildlife today. First, it was another black bear, but it quickly disappeared into the forest. Then, all of a sudden, there were two reindeer/caribou standing in the middle of the road and they didn't seem to care. I have no idea which species it was exactly or if there is any difference between reindeer and caribou. And finally, just before our destination, there were a lot of bison by the side of the road. They looked huge up close. But fortunately, the bison didn't mind us and just occasionally looked over at us in the camera.

Our campsite was a bit off the highway right by the river. There were isolated parking lots among the shrubs and there was even a self-built outhouse xD
