Cairns- time is over

Samstagabend, 14.10.17, kurz vor 24 Uhr local time.. Morgen früh fahre ich nach Brisbane - Zeit für ein Resümee.

Die Tage sind nur so geflogen- im positiven Sinn. Ich habe Cape Tripulation besucht, den Ort wo zwei Weltkulturerbe aufeinander treffen, habe den ältesten existierenden Regenwald Daintree Forest gesehen- 5 mal so alt wie der Amazonas- und das fantastische Great Barrier Reef mit seiner unendlichen traumhaften Unterwasserwelt per Schnorchel  erkundet. Die Umgegend von Cairns gesehen und einen Abstecher nach Port Douglas  gemacht- der etwas luxuriöseren Version von Cairns. Queensland ist wirklich einzigartig schön und ich habe nur einen ganz kleinen Teil davon gesehen.... wow!!

Alleine war ich hier in meiner Unterkunft im Sharehouse fast nie- fast jeden Tag neue Gäste. Japaner, Franzosen, Amis, Briten, Australier, Deutsch- von 18 bis 70 Jahre....ein bunter Mix von sehr spannenden Leuten. Bad teilen, Küche teilen, Toilette teilen... mal ein ganz anderes Reisen, aber erstaunlich gut funktionierend. Kaum Lärm, alle sehr sauber und ordentlich- lief gut.

Bin schon jetzt in Brisbane am Montagabend mit einem netten französichen Mädel zum Bier verabredet, habe 2 andere Mädels aus Melbourne getroffen, die sich mit mir auf ein Bier/ Wein im November rin Melbourne treffen wollen und alles zusammen ist es echt easy mit den Leuten hier in Kontakt zu kommen. Die Australier sind sehr entspannt, immer freundlich und locker. Hier laufen alle immer und ständig in Shorts und T-Shirt rum- sehr relaxed!

Hier in Cairns war das Wetter spitze-  September/ Oktober ist die beste Zeit hier- wenig Regen, noch nicht so schwül und nicht zu heiss. Die giftigen Quallen haben noch keine Saison und man kann direkt am Strand baden. Nur die Krokodile und die Moskitos sind allgegenwärtig- aber irgendwas ist ja immer...;-) Ich hatte immer zwischen 28-30 Grad- Shorts und T-Shirt war mein täglich Brot..;-)

Cairns hat mir gut gefallen- klein, aber fein. Das nächste Mal dann auch Darwin angucken...;-))) (komme bestimmt wieder!!) Langsam wird es hier aber sehr tropisch schwül- Zeit den Ort zu wechseln!!

Ab übermorgen dann in Brisbane ein paar Grad weniger nur 26-28 Grad und weniger schwül- da habe ich dann eine Unterkunft in einem Penthouse.. mal sehen, was das so gibt. CU!

Saturday Night, 14th October, close to midnight local time - time for a resume before I travel to Brisbane tomorrow.

Time flew by- in a very positive way. I visted Cape Tripulation.- the place, where two world unesco heritages, - Daintree Rain Forest and Great Bariier Reef - meet each other, I have seen Daintree Rain Forest, the oldest Rain Forest of the world- 5 times older than the Amatone at Brasil- and I snorkeld at the Great Barrier Reef  and saw the magnificent under water world in its full beauty. I explored Greater Cairns and had a short visit to Port Douglas- the luxuury version of Cairns. 

Queensland is really amazing and I just saw a very small part of it...wow!

I was never really alone at the sharehouse, where I lived. Nearly every day were arriving new guests from Japan, UK, USA, Australia, France and Germany- from 18 to 70 ... a colourful mix of very interesting people! Sharing a bathroom, a toilet and a kitchen- a total different way of travelling. They were all very quiet and kept everything clean and tidy- worked out pretty well!

Already have an appointment for Monday evening for a beer with a nice french girl at Brisbane and got to know two girls from Melbourne - we already fixed meetings for beer/ wine at November over there.The Australians are really super relaxed, very friendly and it is very easy to get in contact. Everyone is wearing shorts and T-Shirt- super relaxed.

Here at Cairns the weather was perfect- not too hot, nearly no rain and not too sticky. September/ October is the best time to travel. There is no season for the poisenous stingers and you still can swim in the  sea. The only nasty things are the crocodiles and the mosquitos... but there is always a "but"...;-)) I had 28-30 degrees the whole time- Shorts and T-Shirt was my "uniform"...;-)

I liked Cairns a lot- kind of small but very nice. Next time I like to see Darwin as well...;-)) (for sure there is a next time- I'll be back!)

But now it is slowly getting more and more sticky- time for a change of place.

From Monday on I'll be at Brisbane- 26-28 degrees "only", but less sticky. I wil have a room at a penthouse... curious what is there to come. CU!
