Von Rieneck to Karlstadt

In the morning it was still raining a lot and thunderstorms were forecasted for the day. Nevertheless, I start into a flat stage after the rest day.

Today it's not going over hills, but always along the water. First I follow the river Sinn until it flows into the Main at Gemünden.

After that, I continue along the Main. Dark clouds pass over me again and again, but fortunately they bring only a little rain. The forecasted thunderstorm fortunately stays away.

Again and again there are beautiful views of the river. The wooded hills of the Spessart are behind me. The valley widens, vineyards appear on the slopes, the Franconian region is reached. Then I arrive in Karlstadt, a small town with an impressive city wall and many half-timbered buildings.

The realization of the day: I'm slowly getting used to the walking speed, a little more than 20 km every day, it's decelerating. The daily goal must always be in sight, major deviations left and right of the path are not possible.
