Tag 15: Presque Isle State Park

Today we went to a small peninsula right off the coast of Erie that is completely protected as a recreational area.

It was supposed to be sunny and reach 19 degrees Celsius. It felt more like 25 degrees. Perfect! Really great here!

The pictures say it all.

Although Lake Erie is only the second smallest of the five Great Lakes, you can get an idea of how big this lake is here on the beach.

The whole place feels like being at the sea, depending on where you are on the shore. Sometimes there are also quiet places where the water is calm and more like a swamp area.

There are bike paths, picnic areas, sandy beaches, hiking trails, entertainment for the little ones, everything that makes a place for the whole family. Admission is free. Plenty of parking spaces... as I said, in my eyes absolutely worth seeing.

I didn't expect it to be like this here, as the city itself gives a really run-down impression in many parts. It is obvious that there used to be a big industry here that has turned its back on the city.

We spent a great afternoon at the beach and it was just beautiful!

Afterwards, we went to Walmart. First, because it was on the way home and second, because you just have to go to Walmart.

The activity "people watching" takes on a whole new dimension there. You could just stand in the parking lot, or sit on a bench inside the store. What you get to see there in terms of entertainment is priceless. I would even give up a Netflix evening for that.

There is everything from funny to surreal.

We spent the rest of the evening at home. Our son wanted to go partying. And we just wanted to relax 😴
