Now...what should I say?! Due to organizational reasons, our family's SUP tour scheduled for yesterday had to be postponed. Unfortunately, we couldn't react to the last-minute schedule change with an adequate alternative program and instead spent the day by the pool with drinks and a book. Lazy day - sometimes necessary.
Today, the most beautiful holiday experience for our two ladies was on the agenda. No vacation without shopping experiences...it's in the contract, so it must be done.
In the morning, we headed to Faro in our white convertible to go to the Designer Outlet Algarve. As experienced outlet shoppers, we were already familiar with the layout of this consumer hell from previous trips. Once you know one, you know them all...
However, shortly after our arrival, disillusionment set in. Mandatory masks throughout the open-air area and restrictive access to the individual shops made it impossible to indulge in an unbridled shopping spree. It was too arduous to gain access to the bargain-laden stores after a long wait. Waiting lines, social distancing, limited selection, and a far too small range of shops led us to leave the premises after just three hours, with less baggage than expected. These are tough times...
However, considering the travel budget and our limited luggage capacity (we're all flying with carry-on only!), this letdown of a shopping trip also had its advantages.
Upon our return to our nest, the kids had a Skat lesson. We can hardly believe it...they actually enjoy playing offline, without complaining...like normal kids. A dream!
Dinner was scheduled for 7 pm. We treated ourselves again. Today at the Ti Maria restaurant, Portuguese cuisine at its best! One of everything, please, and make it two times! ...and then a dessert, it's vacation time after all. ;-)
So...now we're already on the home stretch of our summer vacation this year, which is basically regrettable. But instead of breaking down in tears, we prefer to look forward to the two remaining days, because there's still more to come!
Stay tuned!
