The last night and this morning it rained and now in the evening the sun is shining. That's normal here. So they say. When I'm at home and it rains, I always say, 'It's beautiful weather.' Because we need the rain because it's often very dry.' So the weather here is beautiful, even when it rains.
Despite the rain, I explored the nearby area a bit this morning and found a garden where you can pick vegetables. Ok, it's not a big deal for me.
Another thought is the smells. Some are familiar, which I smell in my nose, others are strange. Then there are some smells that are familiar but unpleasant for me. And these smells come up in my nose at many corners, because cannabis is legal here in Canada, but I'm not used to it. Also on my way to school, either on foot or with Inlane Skate, I pass a shipyard where there is a strong smell of oil. It made me think, what smells am I radiating into my environment? Not necessarily referring to the sweat of feet and armpits, but with my actions, habits, etc., where I might offend my fellow human beings or even restrict them. I want to be a pleasant smell for my fellow human beings and not repel them.
My host mother showed me the way to school, where the bus stops are and where the school is in Victoria. When buying a bus ticket, there are single trips or monthly cards, which are valid from the first to the last day of the respective month and do not apply to the other month, a woman in the queue spoke up. She said that a single trip is for a single journey, but if I give the driver two in the morning and ask for a day pass, I will receive it and can use all the buses in the city. Nice when strangers interfere. But how much do I allow strangers or acquaintances to interfere in my life? And how much do I interfere in the lives of my fellow human beings without them wanting it?
In the afternoon, I walked my way to school in the city, so that I also get to know it. But with the Inlane Skates, the route is very nice, but not so pleasant to ride in two places. I already have sore muscles in my legs, just thinking about it.
I already saw the first orcas today. Here are some impressions of the city.
Although today is Sunday, work is going on in many places. All the shops are open and there are workers on the streets keeping order. They don't value a day off as much here. The host family is also doing some things at home in the garden.
I'm really looking forward to how the first day of school will go tomorrow. First, I have an entrance exam to see how my English is, and based on this test, I will be assigned to a certain class. And what will happen in the afternoon? Let's see. I'll be surprised.
Where is my path leading me?
