The red package is a traditional gift in China. A classic for birthdays or holidays. It combines 2 popular things: a red and gold envelope as the colors of luck and wealth, and money, self-explanatory. The pretty envelopes, often adorned with slogans, can be bought in all stationery stores. They are usually filled by parents and grandparents. Nowadays, they can also be conveniently sent via WeChat. They can be combined with a little game when sent to multiple recipients.

We have also received a red package. At the end of the last company meeting, a sudden commotion broke out. A large QR code was projected onto the wall and neighbors urged us, "Quick, quick, scan it!" A countdown begins, everyone counts down, and off we go! Several red envelopes fly across every mobile screen, and you have to tap as many as possible. Sometimes there are disappointments, sometimes small amounts of money. Excited laughter and the wild tapping of hundreds of adults fill the room. Everything seems euphoric to us. In the end, everyone managed to get 3 or 5€, which are transferred directly to the WePay account.
