Located in Noosa National Park is one of the two existing EvergladesđŸŒŋ in the world. This gigantic river system with its rich flora🌱 and fauna🕷 is best explored by kayakđŸ›ļ.

Tom and I booked a self-guided kayak tour for yesterday, where you can explore the landscape on your own.

Yesterday morning, we were picked up directly from the hostel and drove towards Noosa Wetlands. On the way there, I saw my first wild kangaroođŸĻ˜ in Australia!!!

Upon arrival at the river, we received our equipment; life jacket, double kayak, and map đŸ—ē of the Everglades. We were also provided with a cooler for food and drinks.

Then we started! Paddling through the untouched and quiet nature was fabulous. We spotted many rare bird and plant species. Around noon, we docked at the shore and enjoyed a picnic đŸ§ē. After that, we headed back to the meeting point. We noticed that the headwind đŸŒŦ and waves🌊 had increased significantly. With a lot of effortđŸ’Ē, we paddled the entire way back. After a tiring but fantastic tour, we finally reached the destination.

For me, it was time to say goodbye to Tom. That same evening, I took the train🚃 back to Brisbane.
