Woke up at 6 am and went for a run. It was already very hot and also very hilly. Not really my profile. 😅 Even after a cold shower, I still kept sweating.
Breakfast from 7:30 am doesn't mean that there is already coffee. It arrives around 10 minutes to 8. At exactly 8:30 am, we are picked up by Tom and Noah for their Vanuatu Native Tour. We pick up a lady from Fiji and two Aussies from another hotel and off we go. First stop is a Custom Village. I am appointed as Chief Toby by Chief Stanley and lead the group into the village. Suddenly, a few wild people jump out of the bushes and scream at us. Quite startled. 😁 Then the Chief talks about tribal life and living with nature. It seems to work, but I don't want it. 😉 There is also music and dance (I have to as well 🙄) and then that's it. Probably all just a show, but nicely done and without a sales event. 👍
We continue to the 'Blue Lagoon' (so they have it here too 😊). Nice stop for a refreshing swim. Then to Eton Beach. Supposedly the most beautiful beach on the island. It's nice, but it doesn't really impress us.
The journey continues with many stories about the country and its people. There is the coconut demonstration and a delicious lunch on the beach. Well done, with local food. Everything tastes good. Then we go to the US WW2 Airstrip and Survivor Beach. And then we're back already. It was a good tour.
Use the Wi-Fi quickly at the reception, have 2 beers on the balcony, and off to bed.
Oh, by the way, storms have been raging in Sydney since we left. Lucky, we just got away in time.
