Milford Sound

So on my first real day in New Zealand, I first went to Milford Sound, a fjord on the South Island of New Zealand, also known as the supposed eighth wonder of the world. The drive from Queenstown took about 4 hours and the overall journey was really beautiful. The nature of New Zealand is breathtaking and offers lakes like the Mirror Lakes, which actually reflect the entire landscape, as well as beautiful mountains, rivers, and lakes. Upon arrival at the fjord, we boarded a boat and sailed through the beautiful fjord for 2 hours. Besides the outstanding mountains, which were of course the main attraction, we were also lucky to see sea lions, beautiful waterfalls, dolphins, and rainbows. In general, we had the best weather for our trip considering the fact that New Zealand is incredibly cold and it rains about 2/3 of the year at the fjord. However, we had brilliant sunshine (unfortunately it was still cold). It was an incredibly beautiful trip (although it was very long) that ends with a Ferg Burger, the most famous burger in Queenstown, which was actually extremely good. So a very successful first day and exactly what I needed!
