We've heard that the Japanese are hospitable. What we experienced yesterday still surprised us.
At a Shinto shrine in Kameoka, we met Nobuyoshi, an old man from the village. He told us many exciting things about the shrine and its construction. Then he invited us to a friendly Shinto priest. The priest invited us for green tea and chestnuts. With Nobuyoshi as a translator, we talked to him about vegetarianism. Afterwards, Nobuyoshi took us to the train station and waited until we were really on the train. Incredibly nice!
The glimpse into the garden and the house of the priest felt very private. We were and still are both very touched by the hospitality and kindness shown.
