Tag 2 - Giraffe Walk

Today starts with a warm shower 😊 However, the night was quite cold in the tent 🥶 But with hot water bottles and a wool blanket, we managed 😅

Melly enjoys hot cinnamon black tea for breakfast, while I prefer hot coffee 😄 On our way to the tent, we encounter a chameleon 🦎 Suuuuper sloooow 😅

After breakfast, we head towards Aberdere Country Club at 10:00. We will walk to the nature reserve, where we will first meet impalas, bushbucks 🦌, and warthogs 🐗. Then a herd of giraffes and zebras appear 😊🦒🦓 Amazing! They watch us with curiosity but also caution 😅 We can get really close to them, just a few meters away.

Later, we see some birds (including mousebirds) and a ground squirrel 🐿️. From the window of the men's restroom (🤣), we can observe 3 beautiful blue peacocks 🦚. And as a farewell, we encounter 2 baboons 🦧

On the way back, we make a quick stop at a flea market in Nyeri, as Albright wants to buy a jacket. He negotiates hard 😅 Jacket, pants, and a t-shirt for Benny, all for less than 30 euros (about 2500 Kenyan shillings).

We can relax for the rest of the day, the weather is great with blue skies (even though a storm was forecasted 😅). We have a light snack for lunch and book a time slot for the sauna in the evening. We take a nap for an hour and then go for three rounds in the heat.

With rosy cheeks from the heat, we enjoy our dinner and directly get the chef's recipe for homemade rolls 😅

We relax a bit more at the bar with Kenyan beer and plan the next few days. Maybe we can fit in another action event 😁
