After packing up our things, we go shopping for the next few days, because we don't know what's really coming to us. Then we surf the World Wide Web and check, among other things, the road conditions in NT and Queensland, it doesn't look good and we will always decide anew how and where to go. In the west of Queensland, it has been raining so heavily for days that the roads are impassable, they are simply closed. So there is no danger for us, we just can't go any further and have to go back to the Stewart Highway and drive many kilometers further south to use another crossing to the east. That's 1,400 km in the worst case scenario.

In any case, we have to at least go back to Daly Waters today, from there the Carpentaria Highway goes east, the first of 3 options.

We stop again at the thermal pool Bitter Springs, just to see if a visit is possible today, but we were wrong, the water is significantly higher on the road than on the last visit.

After 300 km, in Daly Waters, we decide to stay, wash clothes and rest. The Carpentaria Highway is open, it didn't rain today either. We will drive east tomorrow.
