From Venice Beach to Lemmy's Lounge 🤘đŸģ

Cheers to earplugs. While JÃļrg was awake early, I got to sleep in today. When it got loud outside, I put the earplugs in for a moment and went right back to sleep 😅
Around noon, we headed to Venice Beach. Finally, blue skies and sunshine again (although someone got a sunburn right away...🙄). First, we walked along the Fishing Pier, then along the boardwalk to Muscle Beach, past the basketball courts, and to the skate park. Since we spent quite a while here in the mild wind, I would bet my guess that I got the red color on my skin here 😅

Back at the car, our next stop was the Rainbow Bar & Grill on Sunset Blvd. The name should be familiar to any MotÃļrhead fan. We spent a good part of the afternoon here in Lemmy's Lounge. Cool location, nice people, and JÃļrg finally got to drink a beer and smoke publicly. I think that will be his highlight of this vacationđŸ¤Ŗ If you're into good rock music and in LA, you should definitely check it out. It's worth it🤘đŸģ
Leaving West Hollywood and LA behind, we continued to Commerce at the Citadel OutletđŸĨ°
The way here was full of traffic, traffic, and more traffic. Maps led us off the main roads in LA, and I have to say, LA is really the biggest dump I have ever seen here. It tops Detroit, and that's saying something. Beverly Hills, Melrose Blvd., Venice Beach, super nice, but just one street over. Truly indescribable. Inhumane how some people live there. I didn't notice it as intensely during my first visit here. But now I don't see anything beautiful here anymore. Trash, dirt, and masses of tent camps and trailer camps in stark contrast to the bling-bling. We drove through neighborhoods, and I don't know how many times I made sure that the car doors were really locked from the inside🙈
Well, at least Commerce was a bit nicer again, and shopping helped distract us. Still, it's sad to see everything we saw there.
And about the outlet, what can I say? -Nice outlet, not too big, and we found some great things 😉 On the way back, we were lucky that the roads back to LA were clear, and we could drive back on the freeway.
My conclusion about LA: We had some nice experiences here yesterday and today, with friends and alone, but it's all just an illusion. I find that very scary. Really, there's a nice, neat neighborhood here, and one street over, there are garbage mountains where people live. Yes, we certainly have that in our big cities too, but I don't think it's as extreme. Not on this scale and not such huge differences. It once again showed me how well off we are and how much we complain on a high level.
