Arrived in paradise

Just a quick update, we survived the speedboat ride, rain means fewer waves and we arrived at Gili Trawangan after about an hour of bumpiness. By the way, the pictures were taken without any filters, it was partly cloudy (sun on the sea, deep blue thunder clouds over Lombok, and us in between).

After sunset, we admired the beach with cocktails and had noodles with lobster, crab avocado salad, and more beer..

Gili T., as it's called here, is the party island of the Gilis, it's loud and very expensive, 20.- for sunscreen!! So we're partying....

You can tell the difference from Bali - the Gilis belong to Lombok - the muezzin shouts 5 times a day from the minaret for prayer, which will be great tomorrow at 5 am (just as annoying as the church on Sunday morning at half past nine!!)

Useless knowledge #1:

There are no dogs on the Gili Islands, only cats - Tine loves it!

Useless knowledge #2:

Between Bali and Lombok is the biological boundary between Asian (Bali) and Australian (Lombok) flora and fauna. It's about 35 km apart...

By the way, it's not far to Komodo to see the Komodo dragons, unfortunately we don't have enough time :-(.

But tomorrow we're going snorkeling, keep your fingers crossed for turtles!!
