28. Stop Don Det, 4,000 Islands, Laos

I didn't sleep very well last night because of the heat, but I had to get used to it on this island. However, I didn't need much energy because this island was for relaxing and resting.

The next morning, I rented a bicycle for the whole day for 1€ and rode around the island. I couldn't get lost because there was a small jungle in the middle, so there was only one road, or rather a small alley, that completely circled around the island as there were no cars here.

In the north of Don Det, there is a small bridge to Don Khon. This part of the Mekong River made navigation difficult due to the nearby impassable waterfalls. As a result, a miniature railway track was started. After realizing that the project was too complex, the construction was stopped. One of the locomotives was salvaged and is now located at the other end of the bridge in Don Khon.

I rode to a beach on Don Khon, went swimming there, and sunbathed. At the end of the day, I watched the sunset and then went to sleep.
