What a beautiful two days we had again?
Emilia had this week off and showed us one of her favorite places in Tasmania!
But from the start, we started on Tuesday in Hobart with the preparations for camping, we had to bring a lot of things like tent, mattresses, sleeping bag, flashlight, groceries... because Maria Island doesn't have a supermarket or electricity or any other conveniences where you can quickly get something, really adventurous!
After everything was packed well in the car and Remus, Emilia's dog, was hosted by a friend, we headed towards Maria Island and since we're on vacation here and don't want any stress, we decided to spend one more night in Orfort and take the first ferry at 9:00 AM the next day.
When we arrived on the island, we set up the tent and then it was time to explore the beautiful island by bike! Past cliffs and into the forest, it was simply wonderful to be in this environment on Maria Island, I couldn't stop marveling!
After a delicious lunch, I dared to enter the turquoise blue fresh sea, what a refreshment! In the evening twilight, we went back to the Paintet Cliffs, cliffs that deserve this name, the different shades of yellow, white, brown, and ochre were so fascinating, I could have sat there for hours and admired this magnificent scenery. But then it got pretty dark, so we went back to the campsite to have some wine, snack on chips, and chat... and then it happened, a small and rarely seen Tasman Devil appeared, I really wanted to see one, but I never thought we would actually see a wild one - super happy!!
The next morning, it was time for breakfast, packing up the tent, and getting ready because today we wanted to do another 4-hour walk towards Credel and Clark. And after 2 hours, we reached the summit with this amazing view, the sea and the cliffs, the island is simply MEGA amazing, unbelievably beautiful!! As a snack, we made delicious wraps that tasted even better at the summit and that we truly deserved!
Back down, it was time to say goodbye to this special island!
