Koh Phangan Full Moon Party

The next day we had some trouble finding the right bus terminal to get to the ferry. Google reaches its limits and we take a tuk tuk to the wrong terminal. However, we still manage to catch the bus on time and can cross over to Koh Phangan without worries. We check in at the West Side Story Hostel and are surprised to find that the owner speaks German. He is Croatian and has lived and worked in Germany for 15 years. He has only been here for 8 months and has already built up a restaurant and hostel. Hats off!

Since the famous Full Moon Party is taking place today, after we have eaten, we get ourselves some whisky and cola and start the evening. We take a taxi to the party which takes place on the southeasternmost beach of the island. We get a brief overview and then split up. Claudi goes with Jasmin and Basti goes with me. We never see each other at the party again, also because the two girls forget our agreement to meet again at 2 o'clock.

Unfortunately, we don't see the moon all night and the party is rather overrated.

Nevertheless, Basti and I only return to the hostel in the early morning hours.

We mostly let the next day pass to recover from the party (it takes longer in old age :D ). We only go out to eat and take an evening walk, where we coincidentally find the night market.
