Death Valley

On Monday we left Las Vegas. We went towards Death Valley passing by Area 51. Of course, we didn't see anything (I must correct myself: we passed by a military base or something similar and saw a drone take off), but we took a break at a funny gas station there.

Next stop was Rhyolite, an abandoned town. I was a bit disappointed because I thought there would be more to see. There was actually only one preserved house there.

So we continued through Death Valley. It got hotter and hotter the deeper we went. A surreal world. When we were almost through, a fighter jet flew by about 100m away from us. A few kilometers further, we found out that the area is used as a training ground. There are people sitting on folding chairs with umbrellas every day, waiting for the planes.

We then continued to Bakersfield.
