Today we have a 'transfer stage' ahead of us, about a 4-hour drive to Yosemite National Park. We'll pass through downtown again and cross the Bay Bridge, one last glimpse of the SF skyline and Alcatraz. The city is really worth a visit! Not too big, yet great architecture, relatively green, and the location by the bay is fantastic! Personally, we don't notice much of the reported high crime rate, the only thing was a parked car with a broken window.
We'll make another short stop at an outlet about 1 hour from San Francisco, the girls still haven't found anything. Only the boys will find something again in one of the numerous American sports merchandise shops.
We'll spend the rest of the day in the car (resting after the marches of the last few days feels good) and arrive at the 'Evergreen Lodge' near the national park in the evening and check into our 'Cabin', a mini hut in the woods. We immediately feel at home when we check in, the lobby is playing the English version of Falco's 'Der Kommissar'. After sunset, we admire the magnificent starry sky.
