Sighișoara

A bɔra kɛnɛ kan: 16.09.2017

The Saturday morning (16.09.2017) starts quite early again. After having breakfast and a chat with Paula, I go into town with Rango. The big guy doesn't want to start the day on an empty stomach either. We're back at the hostel around eleven, saddle up the horses, and make our way to the train station. After buying the ticket and boarding the train, we relax in the cabin for about two and a half hours until we reach Sighișoara at 2:45 pm. Intensive research has revealed two possible camping spots. This time, we can check in near the city center on the first try. Unfortunately, the pool advertised on the website is empty, but the facility impresses with freshly renovated sanitary facilities and a spacious kitchen. After setting up the tent and roughly stowing away our belongings, we head towards the old town. We pass by the Orthodox Cathedral, cross the Târnava Mare, and climb up to the medieval city center, the castle. Naturally, it greets us with a church. Apart from that, the castle is characterized by small streets and cute old houses. On the way, I'm approached by two girls who are looking for their car. With the help of my map app, it seems like I can assist them. Then I continue to stroll through Sighișoara and treat myself to a coffee at the old city wall, taking the opportunity to call home. Shortly after I continue my journey with Rango, I run into Brigita and Laura again. Both still seem lost and without a car. After identifying the supposed parking lot on the map, we make our way towards it together. After discovering their car and having a nice chat until then, the two spontaneously decide to stay a bit longer in the cozy little town. We get some food and then set off to find a cozy spot. We find one very close to the Biserica Mănăstirii. So the entertaining evening passes quickly in the nocturnal setting of Sighișoara.

Around half past six, the dawn wakes us up and we enjoy the first rays of sunshine before I accompany the two to their car and we say goodbye. I head back to the campsite with Rango, where we doze off until noon. In the afternoon, we take another walk in Sighișoara and climb the Schulberg, among other things, with the Biserica din Deal. Back in the old town, I have another cup of coffee before we make our way back to the campsite in the early evening. The wind started to pick up during my coffee break. When I arrive at the tent, it starts to rain as well. Shortly after me, Marlon arrives at the campsite with his dog Flauscher. After setting up their tent, I meet up with Marlon for a chat on the covered terrace of the campsite. He started near Hanover with his bike and trailer and made his way to Transylvania. Flauscher mostly rides at the back of the trailer, causing quite a stir. So the second evening in Sighișoara comes to an end in good company.
