15 km along the abyss

Today our car should have a day off. We planned to hike about 15 km from Mather Point to Hermits Rest. The weather initially cooperated as well. Drinks and fruits were packed in the backpack. Along the entire route, certain viewpoints offered the opportunity for great photos. Since these spots were also accessible by shuttle bus, there was always a lot of activity there. It was more pleasant between these viewpoints, as there were only a few tourist hikers. Sometimes we walked just a few meters away from the depth of the Grand Canyon. On average, about 12 people die in this canyon each year. We didn't take any risks and always kept a safe distance from the edge. Unfortunately, it became cloudier in the afternoon. Some places had dark black clouds. Fortunately, we were spared from the rain. We took the shuttle bus back from Hermits Rest. Steffi's app recorded a new record in terms of steps taken that day. Yeah!
