Welcome to Brazil

The crossing from Uruguay across the border was unexpectedly easy. First stop: a restaurant at a gas station. Getting new cash and informing oneself about the exchange rate: 3 Reais equal 1 Euro. We will save the remaining Uruguayan Pesos (100 Pesos equal 3 Euro) for the way back. Even at the gas station, one can eat quite decently. Compared to Uruguay, everything seems much fresher, more diverse, and cheaper to us. The people are even more open, Vincent is constantly being touched by anyone, mostly women, which doesn't bother him - and therefore us - much. He mostly smiles back and people are even happier. It feels like we have a celebrity with us: everyone wants to catch a glimpse of him, people turn around to look at him, we constantly receive congratulations, I have to provide information about his name and age everywhere. 'Nome: Vincente (pronounced: Vicentschi), età: sei mese'. After 2 weeks, we are slowly getting used to the language. A lot is very similar to Spanish, you just need some time to listen.
