Let's go on

In the past few days, we took a break from our sabbatical year. You might find it strange, taking a vacation from a vacation, but our minds were filled with impressions, a new highlight every day, so we needed a break. So we went to the Sunshine Coast, which is beautiful but more of a retirement place, and we did very little. Read, took two small trips, bought coffee and very delicious cake in Lund, and bought a dark, almost German bread at the farmers market in Powell River. We stayed in a nice room in a house with a pool and a small cabin all to ourselves on the edge of the forest through Airbnb.

But now we are on the move again. On the "Sea to Sky Highway" (from the sea to the sky, to the mountains) from Vancouver to Whistler.

But there was still a highlight waiting for us. My godchild Antonia is currently on an exchange program in Vancouver and we actually managed to meet briefly. Briefly because Sandra and I were stuck in traffic for ages and then Antonia didn't have much time left. The next school program is waiting. But it was still great!

We are making a stop in Squamish on the way to Whistler. This small town offers a big waterfall, the fjord invites you to kitesurf, and you can take a cable car up the mountains. Up there, there are many hiking trails, a fantastic viewing terrace, and a 100-meter long suspension bridge 😄 the ride was definitely worth it.
