Lisbon / Cabo da Roca 🇵🇹

A bɔra kɛnɛ kan: 23.10.2017

As mentioned, we spontaneously went to Lisbon. What a city, it's beautiful here!

After checking into the hostel, we just started walking towards the old town. We were approached about 320 times if we wanted to buy hashish, cocaine, or other stuff, so at some point we started countering and asking them the same question before they asked us. It works, although not everyone is as amused as we are.

Fortunately, the weather is better now. So we spent the whole day by the water, had some beers and enjoyed the sunset. And since it was Saturday, we naturally tested and approved Lisbon's club scene.

Sunday is Sunday, so we spent half of the day chilling in the hostel and then took an Uber to the hipster district, specifically to LX Factory, pretty cool here. Various clothes, homemade food, and street art are quite appealing!

Afterwards, we took the train to Cascais and from there went to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of Europe. Cascais is a small town, nice to look at but nothing special. Cabo da Roca, on the other hand, blew me away, intense cliffs, the wind blows you away and we witness a sunset that is hard to find elsewhere, photos. 😏

Absolute madness here, a seemingly relatively disturbed person balancing on a rope!

Someone is balancing there!!!
Someone is balancing there!!!

The evening is spent playing Shithead, good street music, below the famous Lisbon elevator and some red wine.

Something funny:

Unfortunately, our original plan to return to Porto by BlaBlaCar does not work out completely, as the confused provider of the ride 1. only speaks Portuguese, 2. somehow is not able to answer and 3. does not even go to Porto. The only sentence that comes from him is „Sempre vc vem“, which means "you always come", I am highly amused because nobody understands the meaning behind the sentence. Shortly before departure time, the man finally calls, luckily someone from the hostel helps and talks to the man, who by the way seems to have a very Brazilian slang. Funny thing. All in all, everything is settled, we're on the bus and we'll arrive.

So the short but relaxing and quite interesting trip ends again and we fly home early tomorrow morning. If you have a few days, Portugal is definitely worth it! Obrigado.
