Mechanic in the morning drives away sorrow and worries

After a cool night (thank goodness we have very warm duvets and a night's sleep isn't a bad thing either...) the tension rises: What's wrong with our gas heater? Just to understand: we have an electric heater with which we can usually easily bring the camper to a comfortable temperature, but on some campsites the electricity columns are not sufficiently protected, so we should be able to heat with gas. Yesterday was such a case. The electric heater only ran at the lowest level and the gas heater didn't start.

So off to the workshop today (specializing in campers)! There we are greeted by a very nice mechanic who, like everyone else here, can communicate very well in English. He switches on the heating, tries it, listens, looks and says: we'll give it time and leaves the workshop. After a few minutes he comes back and... lo and behold... the heating switches on and immediately gives off warm air. I would love to hug him!!!

He explains to us that at these temperatures it happens that the gas builds up too little pressure. Then the heater simply takes a long time to ignite. We are delighted. A tip changes hands and we're on the road again.

The road is like a slide with ribs and it takes a lot of concentration to drive smoothly. The trees on the left and right look bizarre with their thick snow cover. There isn't much traffic and the few cars drive pretty fast in these conditions. Well - there are still studded tires here...

We drive to the small winter sports area Pyhä-Luosto (3 ski lifts, some cross-country ski trails, snow hiking trails) where an idyllic campsite in the forest awaits us.

We go for another walk and after it's -22°, we put on really warm clothes. I'm really in love with my heated socks and gloves - they make my life so much easier.

Wilfried is almost never cold - he only chose the warm Untergatti as additional equipment. Tomorrow we want to do some skiing or cross-country skiing here, depending on the weather.

Unfortunately, no northern lights have appeared yet... But it is also a full moon - not a good time for northern lights.
