The journey was peaceful, passing through various streets with their towns, hamlets, and beaches along the coast. Along the way, there was a small but lovely opportunity to stop at the 'Filippo' fruit and adventure garden. It used to be called the yellow fizz here.
We drink coffee, eat limes, and buy a few souvenirs. It's just before noon, kids are playing here, and their gleeful laughter can be heard. It's a wish to be small again, with a shovel and teddy bear.
Before we continue the journey, we take a look around, study what's on offer, and drive on, impressed, to the Fehmarn Sound Bridge.
A few more kilometers and we reach today's destination, moored in the motorhome field here at the South Beach Campsite.
A slight tingle rises within us, sending electric currents through our nerves and thinning our sluggish blood. We pull out our wallets, check in, and crush the fresh bag of chips with our Crocs on the floor - endless wiping ensues.
Now we nostalgically reflect back on the journey here and powerfully gaze at the summer's energy for minutes on end. Excellent - we have arrived on vacation!
