Wild atlantic way

A bɔra kɛnɛ kan: 22.06.2023

After checking out, today we're heading to the next location, Killarney. A day full of highlights and actually without a drop of rain for now. On to the 'wild-atlantic-way', past the Galway bay, Kinvara, viewpoint Aillwee over the Burren region. A very rocky area where many bird species live, wild geese winter, and many stone plants bloom.

Even the cows and sheep live here in paradise. Huge pastures separated only by stone walls and all lush green. A species-appropriate environment indeed.🐑🐄

Passing the town of Doolin, which is frequented by many young people and where many musicians meet. Also, in this area, the houses are all 1 to 2 km apart. So there's no arguing with the neighbors either.

One of my top five vacation highlights today in dream weather: Cliffs of Moher. Simply wow🤩, really beautiful. Somehow indescribable, just beautiful.

Continuing past sandy beaches and Spanish Point to the ferry to Kerry (where Kerrygold Irish butter comes from).

Spanish Point because a Spanish ship once sank in the Atlantic, the people who didn't drown swam ashore and were shot directly by the English. 😟 (a bit tragic)

The crossing on the ferry: 'Ferry to Kerry' takes 20 minutes and when you arrive there, it's raining, so not completely rain-free today.

The Killarney hotel is huge and if you know your way around, you'll leave again. The request not to have mash potato was unfortunately not fulfilled. Day 4 with mash potato as a side dish 🤢, seems to be standard here. To overcome this, you had to go to the pub Danny Mann, have two Guinness and everything is fine. I think we should have more pubs like that. Tomorrow, we're moving on.🙋‍♀️
