08./09/12/18 - Tour in the Pinnacles Desert

After an eventful week with many wonderful new acquaintances, I decided to take a tour to the Pinnacles Desert with Nicolas, a Frenchman from the hostel, about 250 km north of Perth. We set off in the afternoon to arrive before dark. Driving in the dark is not a good idea, we were told. Soon we also realized why: it felt like every 500 meters there was a dead kangaroo on the road. Unfortunately, we encountered a roadblock due to a serious accident, so we had to stop in Lancelin. There we spent the night in the dunes by the beach under a breathtaking starry sky.

The next morning we continued after a coffee on the now open road into the desert, where many sharp, rugged rocks jutted out of the ground like battlements.
...and there were kangaroos too
...And there were living kangaroos too
