On Saturday, we headed to the next island - Ko Lanta....
This island was highly recommended to me during my trip. So, off to the ferry and booked a ticket. On the ferry, I was immediately bombarded by tour operators trying to sell tours to Ko Lanta. After a little discussion, I decided to go on a day trip to 4 small islands including snorkeling, and then transfer to Ko Samui on Tuesday.
Once I arrived in Ko Lanta, I went to the hotel first. I had booked a bungalow right on the beach, and yes, it was very calm. In Ko Lanta, you could definitely feel that it was still off-season. I rented a scooter right away and started exploring the island. It was bigger than Ko Phi Phi and had a small jungle and great viewpoints.
The crazy thing about the island was that people were burning their belongings everywhere, so there was smoke everywhere and it smelled accordingly. I actually wanted to see South Thailand's largest cave, but unfortunately, I didn't have time anymore. Next time then 😉
When I arrived at the hotel in the evening, it began... I felt a little sick and yes, I spent the whole Sunday lying down. I was really hit hard. I thought that after 2 weeks, nothing could happen to me anymore, but I was wrong... So I mostly ate charcoal tablets and got a lot of sleep. That was also the first day of my vacation where I didn't do anything. Well, on Monday, despite being a little unwell, I still went on the snorkeling tour. It was beautiful, but under the circumstances, I couldn't really enjoy it. Today, on Tuesday, things are already improving and we're heading to the next island... Ko Samui 😁
