The journey home

A bɔra kɛnɛ kan: 03.11.2017

It's crazy that I'm finally going home.
- 4 weeks
- 28 days
- traveled 750 km by scooter
- the first time alone on vacation
- met over 20 different nationalities

- been to 11 different places
- gained millions of impressions
- one less phone
- and and and...

These are just a few things that happened in the last month and now it's time to go home. And I'm looking forward to it. I'm looking forward to steaks, proper beer, Döner.. To my friends and to the boys' nights and of course to my family. And definitely to a proper toilet 😆

It was nice to meet so many new people and I think I will stay in touch with some of them. But every journey comes to an end.

So on Thursday I already went from Ko Tao to Surat Thani. I didn't want to take a long train ride, so I bought a flight ticket to Bangkok a week before. The trip from Ko Tao took unfortunately 7 hours with ferry and bus. It was typical Thai. You had to change twice, but they only tell you two minutes before the fear. Eventually I finally arrived and went to the hotel. There I first packed my things and prepared everything for the next journey. Then I went to the night market. One last time 😑
But there was a wide selection of food again and it was very cheap. So I stuffed myself with Pad Thai, Sushi, meat skewers and and and... for only 5 euros.

Surat Thani is an old mining and trading town where many Chinese lived and therefore this town is very Chinese influenced. On Friday morning I took the bus to the airport and from there to Bangkok. The first flight was already delayed by an hour... great.... Luckily, I had planned enough time. But once I arrived in Bangkok, I had to go to the other airport first. It was 30 km away. I read on the internet that there are free buses for the transfer and actually, after asking around a bit, I finally found the bus. So cool, saved a lot of money again.

Once I arrived at the airport, the check-in and passport control procedure started again, but I had plenty of time.

Departure was at 5 p.m. German time and now, 11 hours later, I'm sitting in Helsinki waiting for the final flight to Berlin. It's already Saturday, 5:35 a.m. and in three-quarters of an hour we'll take off. I'm excited...

Unfortunately, I couldn't find the only gin produced in Thailand, so I got a Finnish gin as a holiday treat 😉

This was definitely not the last vacation of this kind... I already have new ideas for next year 😉

In this sense, goodbye, take care, see you soon, Denny.
