Day 5 - the English weather is coming...

A bɔra kɛnɛ kan: 17.08.2016

Before I start with today, I want to say that yesterday was not as bad as it seems except the part with the water. 😑 I only would do other things after all. 😉

What a day… Today I had a great plan: Travelling to Penzance early in the morning so that I arrive at 12.30 pm. Leaving my luggage at at restaurant which is offering luggage service. Going to St. Ives to visit the town and their beaches. My wheater app said that the weather in St. Ives will be much better than in Penzance. 😃 So that was the plan. 😁

And that's the reality 😂:

My train to Penzance was delayed for about 25 minutes. I'm German I know train delays. 😉 25 min were acceptable.

When I had just arrived in Penzance, I got a call from the travel agency, where I booked my trip to Scilly Islands on Friday. Unfortunately, the captain had to cancel the trip, because the weather won't be good on Friday. The wind will be too strong. That's sad, but not changeable. 😭 By the strong wind, it wouldn't be so nice to take a small airplane and/or a ferry. 😩 I expected this cancellation. I looked at the weather for Friday every day and the forecast was not good and didn't change since the last days.

But today is today and so I brought my luggage to The Longboat, a restaurant with some rentable rooms and luggage service next to the station. I read about this at trip advisor. I had to find a solution for my backpack, because I couldn't check-in in my B&B before 4 pm. They wrote that there will be no staff available before. Ok, so I got a place for my backpack at this restaurant for £ 3 for the whole day.

After I was 'free' from my luggage, I took the bus to St. Ives. In Penzance the weather was grey, very cloudy. I was sure in St. Ives will be sunshine. 😁 My app said this. 😉 The bus drove and drove and it was cloudy and cloudy and still cloudy. My hope of better weather decreased slowly. 😯 Anything had to be wrong with my app….

I arrived in St. Ives and what surprise it was still cloudy and a little bit wet like a very fine German Nieselregen. I was hungry and thirsty and freezing, so I searched a nice restaurant and had lunch. There were wifi and so I could check what happened with my app. It still said sunny weather for St. Ives, but I saw that my app stored another St. Ives near Birmingham. I searched St. Ives and it could only be found this one. I found the St. Ives, where I have been only with GPS. And what a surprise, the weather was nearly the same as in St. Ives. 😁 It seemed, that I get punk'd by wetter-online. 😂 Ok, I wondered a little bit, that there is a difference in the weather between two towns, which are not so far away from each other. But I thought at the sea everything would be possible. I wanted to believe in this weather, because it was so suitable to my plans. 😂 That's me, I believe what I want to believe in. 🙈🙈🙈

As it was not the best weather in St. Ives today or rather I wasn't good enough prepared for this weather and the trip to Scilly Islands was cancelled (so I also have Friday to visit something here in Cornwall), I decided to go back to Penzance after lunch and check in the B&B. 😊 What I saw from St. Ives looked beautiful, I will certainly come back in the next days. 😀😀😀

Before I left I saw the lifeboat coming out. It seemed that this is great attractions. So many people were standing there, had a look and were taking pic's. So I also took a pic. 😜

In my B&B I had a tea first. By the way I'm very English now. I drink the traditional tea with milk and I like it. 😉 My new B&B is very lovely like the English people say. 😉😀 I have my own bath room and a very good hairdryer. It's fantastic. 😁 Nikki, the owner, is soooo nice. I think, I like her. I had to order my breakfast for tomorrow. For the first time I haven't ordered the full English breakfast, I ordered 'only' scrambled eggs. But I will take the full English breakfast another time. I wanna try it. I also ordered a coffee. This will be my first English coffee.

I'm looking forward to the breakfast. 😀😀😀 That will be the first that I have a proper breakfast since I'm on the island. In Salisbury I had only tea and then I bought me my breakfast at the supermarket. In Torquay I had breakfast with toast and cereals, but only yesterday. Today I bought my breakfast at the supermarket and ate it at the train station while waiting for the delayed train. I also look forward to meet other people at breakfast. 😀😀😀

In the evening I walked through Penzance. It looks very nice. 😊 At the seafront I saw some swimmers. They didn't care for the weather. 😉 To my colleagues: Anne Jones wasn't with them. 😉 I also found a pool at the seafront, which is built in the water like the 'Badeschiff' in Berlin, but an older style. I also saw some beautiful houses. In the meantime the rain had arrived here. When it was too strong, I walked back, although I weared a raining jacket. 😉 I was better prepared this time. 😊😊😊

Schöner Report. Das Wetter spielt natürlich verrückt. Du musst Dein GPS einschalten, damit dich dein Handy orten kann. Viel Spaß noch und Dein Wortschatz ist bereits gewachsen.
