We continue our journey.

After two days at the campground with showers and electricity, we now want to experience the coast and nature. It's time to free camp - the question is where to go.

We travel along the coast on small roads, taking detours to the beaches and viewpoints. I can understand very well why this section is called the Green Coast. The lush meadows and green forests provide a beautiful contrast to the blue of the Cantabrian Sea.

The colors here are so intense, even when the weather is sometimes cloudy.

A comparison with Ireland comes to mind, where the stones grow from the land and the rugged coast plunges steeply into the sea. It looks the same here, with the fine difference that there are also sandy beaches behind every corner. Sometimes very small and difficult to reach, sometimes large and stretching for several kilometers.

Today we are exploring the 'park4night' app, which is popular among campers and describes parking options for a night. There, we discover the place:

Best place ever ....
Best place ever ....

At the end of a small road that leads to the beach of the village (every village has its own beach), there is a terraced parking lot with multiple levels. The view is fantastic and indescribably beautiful.

And the best part - we are the only visitors and can choose the best view.

The grass is freshly mowed, the place is dry, and there is a paradise-like atmosphere. According to the descriptions on the internet, this is a paid spot for 10 €. But there is no one here asking for money. There is also no electricity, water, or disposal - just landscape.

In the evening, around 8:00 p.m., the cashier from the village finally comes and collects the 10 €.

Two other motorhomes have also arrived next to us. The place is very spacious, so it will be much busier during the peak season.

Some walkers also pass by and walk down to the beach on the paved road. But they don't stay long, so after 8:00 p.m., complete silence sets in.

The sea has a relatively strong tide here. Ebb and flow strongly move the water on the beach. When we were down at the beach, it was probably high tide. In any case, the lagoon was filled and invited us to swim. Unfortunately, I didn't have a towel with me, and at a temperature of around 12-13 degrees, it was enough to walk in the water with bare feet.

The next morning, we saw the contrast at low tide. The water had receded so much that the entire lagoon was empty.

Such places are the highlights of the journey - we must continue.

But we also want to visit the cities - tomorrow we're going to Santander.
