Pai is recommended for anyone who needs a break from life. An unspoken motto is, "Once in the hole, always in the hole." The residents of Pai have made it their mission to force tourists to relax, so Pai is more than meets the eye. This can be seen in the numerous tour stands where tourists can book attractions, but so far, no visitor has ever wanted to leave the hole and book such a tour or visit an attraction on their own. There's even a rumor that there are no attractions. That's the thing with appearances. Pai offers much more than that! Once you arrive here, you'll be drawn to a restaurant or café. The residents are clever and have set up seating and lounging areas everywhere.
Our recommendation: Never plan your day because Pai has already done it for you. In the hole, you usually chill all day, where you have breakfast. Occasionally, you can also visit a few restaurants. However, we strongly advise against visiting more than three because otherwise, the day will be too exhausting.
If the restaurants are more than 20 meters away from each other, we recommend renting a scooter. Of course, you can make a detour to the walking street. However, this requires more planning in advance.
Since the visitors will stay here forever, the residents have decided to sell food at a particularly low price - very clever. We promise that Pai will be good for you. It promotes balance.
However, there is one downside: the air is smoky, so we have heard that it is advisable to smoke a pack of cigarettes a day, as the filter then filters the air.
That's all there is to say about Pai. Just let yourself fall deep into it.
Oh, and before Pai, we were in Chiang Dao, but that's our story;)
