The hiking tour through the Ardeche Canyon that was decided yesterday was carried out today. To motivate the children for the long walk, we talk about cave exploration and they are excited to photograph dinosaur tracks and investigate dark caves for bats. We struggle and make our way along the white-yellow path over rocks and cliffs, with the river below us. Just don't slip... 😆 There were no losses, only a wasp sting on mom. Thankfully, Philip brought the first-aid kit and Jule treats mom. We head back, but Jule is slowly losing motivation. Dad has to play the pack mule in 38 degrees. After 5 km over sticks and stones, it's time for food and then the pool.
Since it's our last evening together, we want to go out for dinner again. After a walk in the forest, Google predicts a restaurant for us. The music is loud and we find a restaurant/bar structure with a playground. Quite practical... The kids are occupied.
The evening was quite fun, even though the food wasn't French haute cuisine. The way back was a bit adventurous as we had to go through the pitch-black forest. With our phone flashlight and funny stories, the scaredy-cats among us managed to survive.
