Today we were able to make progress with each of the horses, both small and large. Today Nick was able to halter and lead one of the two mares that we still couldn't halter.
Now we still have one mare that we haven't haltered yet. But Nick is allowed to do grooming with her. That's the little white one in the photo. He gives her time and doesn't rush her.
We are allowed to touch all of them. With those who are further along, we do mounting exercises, lunge them, practice giving hooves, stroke them with different materials...
Since they are horses for sale, they all need to be "transportable". This means that we continue with basic training and loading training (aim is to load them into the truck). Others are being prepared for riding. The two young stallions that we treat twice a day are also intended for riding. Tomorrow we will get to know them outside of the "Manga" (a tight enclosure where we flush their abscesses, give medication).
It's very windy here. Mia unfortunately didn't come today... But thanks to the GPS collar, we can see that she is here on the stud farm. We will go look for her tomorrow.
