We slowly have to head towards Christchurch so that we don't miss the drop-off and our flight, um, although, we could stay here a bit longer, but no, or maybe, let's see ;)
So this morning we start dry after a rainy night, but it's only 12 degrees. Relatively cold, somehow the wind goes through the clothes, so several stops with warm tea are necessary. But today it's only 200km, so we can take our time.
The route is a little boring at first, at least for NZ, but we still have to drive over a pass and after that it becomes expansive and wide again. In the distance we have Mount Cook in front of us the whole time, maybe the destination for tomorrow.
Shortly before the destination we reach the two lakes, Lake Pukaki and Lake Tekapo, both filled with green glacier water and enormous. Stunning views again, apparently NZ has infinite reserves...
