Arrival, continuation...

G'day mates!

This morning I took a taxi to Cairns airport at 06:00 am. Finally, the departure was at 07:40 am. ...BUT! ...At check-in, the nice lady from Quantas explained to me that unfortunately the flight will be delayed by seven hours, but she would be happy to check in my luggage. SEVEN HOURS!!??!!

Nothing can be done about it. So I exchanged the meal voucher, which was given as compensation, for breakfast. Fair enough! So what to do with the time? Definitely not sit at the airport. Hmmm... I looked at the well-known map and saw that the botanical garden in Cairns opens at 07:30 am, has good reviews, and is only a 10-minute taxi ride from the airport. Well then, let's go back to the city and explore the garden in 35°C heat. The only problem is that both shorts and a sun hat are in the suitcase. Doesn't matter, roll up the long pants, buy a new sun hat, and off we go! After all, it doesn't really matter whether I spend a free afternoon in Alice Springs or a free morning in Cairns.

And what can I say? That was a really good idea. The park is very naturally designed and invites you to spend a lot of time in it. For me, it was five hours. And if it hadn't been so hot, I would have done the longer and more challenging hikes there. But even so, I looked like I had stood under the shower in full clothes...😉. Still, the trip was worth it, good thing my flight was delayed.

I will attach a few photos taken with my phone, the animal pictures will follow, I still have to download them from the other camera.

I have no idea if I will have time to contact you again before the Jeep Safari. It probably won't work during. If not, you'll hear from me again at the end of the week.

See you!
