Chapter 25: Riga

A bɔra kɛnɛ kan: 09.01.2018

On the way to our sleeping place in the Latvian forests, our G once again showed off her off-road qualities.

From the wilderness, we quickly reached the capital city of Riga. It exudes much more urban flair than Tallinn. The Russian influences are also diminishing, so the Western style predominates in the churches again.

A special feature is the central Freedom Monument, a large obelisk flanked by motionless guards.

Despite the predominantly urban appearance, the narrow streets of the Old Town create a peaceful atmosphere.

By the riverside, the market square stretches with its magnificent buildings, such as the House of the Blackheads.
