The beautiful beach in Playa del Carmen

Of course, we also had some beach days. These days were quite relaxed because we mostly spent them lying comfortably with a good book on the beach or by the pool, cooling off in the pleasant sea or pool water, and occasionally getting some delicious snacks and drinks. A little relaxation is sometimes necessary ;) A Mojito must not be missing :D

However, the 'sunbed problem' slightly affected the beach mood. There were enough sunbeds available, but they were placed very close together, so there was hardly any space on the sides. Fortunately, it was not yet the high season, so the sunbeds next to us were usually free. But if someone joined us, there was no privacy anymore. Then it was all about cuddling, which is not necessary at all. However, there was enough shade, which is important. Although you can spend the whole day in the front row under the blazing sun, your skin will thank you if you mostly stay in the shade.

Another point was the constant music playing at the hotel. There was loud and annoying music almost around the clock. Until around 10 am, you could still enjoy the sound of the sea in peace, but then it started and the idyll was over. Wonderful for partygoers, but simply annoying for those seeking peace and quiet. However, the sight of the really beautiful beach compensated at least a little. It was truly amazing! White sandy beach, beautiful turquoise water. Just a shame that it was so crowded.

There were also various water sports activities available, which also did not contribute to a peaceful atmosphere. However, one plus point was that we could take long walks along the beach without being approached by people trying to sell us something. So we could walk along the beach in peace.

The water was also very pleasant for swimming, although the water quality varied depending on the currents. On some days, the water was really beautiful and clear, like paradise! But on other days, it was quite rough and murky.

Overall, the beach was really really beautiful :) Compared to Thailand, it was even more beautiful, but also more crowded. Fortunately, it was still manageable. We definitely enjoyed our time here!
