To saint-brevin and “back” to nantes 103km

A bɔra kɛnɛ kan: 11.05.2024

This morning we woke up at six o'clock sharp and took down the tent again and headed to the sea. Not to Saint Nazaire, of course, but to Saint-Brevin. I only noticed that later, but it wasn't relevant.

We set off with the expectation that we wouldn't actually make it to the campsite at our destination (a little after Nantes).

But one thing at a time. When we set off, the last 25km to the sea, we weren't quite sure which route to take. We then decided on the one from Komoot, as it doesn't just go along the Loire, like the official route.

On the way, a few mother cows and their cattle suddenly appeared in the way. We had to "drive around" them and so we went a little further than expected.

On the way we looked for a boulangerie and found one. We had a coffee and got our breakfast.

After 32km we were at the sea and could admire the bridge to Saint Nazaire. It is quite an impressive structure.

Now we drove back past the beautiful old fishermen's huts and along the small canal. There are a few pictures of that too.

In a place that I don't remember but have now looked up, it's called Baimboeuf. We bought something for lunch there and also took over a bench at the supermarket. We shouldn't have done that. So when we were finished, the boss and a security guard came. He finally had something to do. But they noticed that a sign was missing ;-) and so it wasn't so bad.

Further along the way we drove to Nantes. We did some shopping there too.

It was only half an hour to the campsite and so we actually made it and arrived at the campsite at five o'clock.

Set up the tent, shower and cook. For dinner we had potatoes, cordon bleu and spinach.

now let's end the evening with a glass of wine on a sofa :-)
