Despite the fact that we fell asleep yesterday or today completely exhausted, getting up was relatively easy. At least for one party😁 However, breakfast from 7-9 am is also quite sporty Scottish.🫨
Hotel is cute, small but clean and cozy. New bathroom 🥳
Typical British breakfast, but everything is there!
Then we took the bus for about 45 minutes to the center of Edinburgh.
Get off the bus and check out the city. The Scots won't like to hear it, but it reminded us a lot of London🫢.
Old buildings, narrow streets and lots of history. We strolled along Princess Street, past the Scottish Monument (with the real 'William Bravehart Wallace) up to the castle. Lots of people on the way, especially on the Royal Mile. We used a short rain shower for a little refreshment in Deacons Café.
After visiting Victoria Street and at least Dine exploring the shops, we went to the Scottish Parliament and visited Holyrood Palace.
Since we also wanted to go up to the 'Arthurs Seat' viewpoint, we needed to use the restroom and also had some appetite. That's where the 'Oink🐷branch' came in handy.
We were able to take care of everything there and they had delicious IPA in addition to pulled pork.
After so much indulgence, we took a little hike to 'Arthurs Seat'.
The ascent was rewarded with a great view of Edinburgh and the weather played along. Cool but dry. Very beautiful!
Now it was time for dinner and as pub fans, we also stopped at the second one on our way back.
Delicious fish soup, fantastic fish and chips, and great beer. We love pubs.
On the way back to the bus station, it started to rain. Perfect timing.
The bus transported us back to Rosyth on time.
So the first day comes to an end with great impressions.
But we still feel a bit tired from the short night.
But on Sundays, breakfast is from 8-10 am😉💪
Stay tuned!
