20.12.2019 Picton, ByeBye South Island

About the Queen Charlotte Drive at Double Bay, we went fishing in the evening and stayed overnight at a free camping site.
Our last evening before leaving the South Island and probably never coming back.

From Picton, the 'Bluebridge' ferry to Wellington starts. It was supposed to leave at 2 pm and we should arrive in Wellington at 5:30 pm.
It started quite well, the sun was shining, we walked through Picton on foot, ate ice cream, and then went to the ferry. It was already 1 hour late, so we received cookies and water at the counter as compensation.

On the ferry, there was a small cinema and food. Some food was free (tea and coffee) and you could buy meals.

Instead of arriving at 5:30 pm, we arrived in Wellington at 6:50 pm and you won't believe it, it was raining :-D, so crazy... It was still so sunny in Picton.

These were our last days on the South Island, now it's time for the North Island, we're excited about what's to come :-).
