Hello everyone,
as announced, I spent the last few days in Stockholm. First of all: a fantastically beautiful city! One of the best I have ever seen!
On Thursday afternoon at 4 pm, our journey began. There were a total of 7 people on board, a great group of people I am traveling with and who fit together very well! We took the bus from Tampere to Turku and from Turku we continued by ferry to Stockholm. Departure from Turku at 9 pm and arrival in Stockholm at 7:45 am.
Why didn't we fly?? That would have been silly - you have to experience the ferry trip! The ferry is not just a normal ferry, but actually the place where probably at least as much alcohol is sold during that time as at the Oktoberfest! Unbelievable! The duty-free shop is completely overcrowded and the alcohol inside is selling like hot cakes!
But it's not just in the shop, there's also a lot going on in the various bars and clubs on the ferry. There is a lively atmosphere everywhere with live bands and good food.
Of course, we didn't want to be outsiders and stocked up on some alcohol for Stockholm ;)
After a night in the cabins on the ferry, we finally arrived in Stockholm. Off to the hostel to drop off our luggage, have breakfast, and explore the city! We were already impressed by the city on the way to the hostel! After a very exhausting day in the city and a very good typical Swedish dinner, we visited the Icebar. Yes, it was freezing cold there 😃
After that, the group split into party people and sleep people ;) I'm not saying which group I was in 😅😅
Since Stockholm is not the cheapest city, we only booked the hostel for one night. In our opinion, it wouldn't have been worth it to pay for another night if we were going to go out on Saturday evening and have to leave for the ferry at 5 am. So from Saturday noon at 11 o'clock, we were homeless 😃😃
On Saturday during the day, we just let ourselves drift through the city and enjoyed everything. In the evening, we went out for dinner and then, even though we didn't live in the hostel anymore, we settled in the bar there. Later, we tested the nightlife again. Unusual for us and especially not planned, was that in Sweden all bars/clubs are only open until 3 am and then the curbs are lifted everywhere.. So we sat at McDonald's for almost 2 hours until we headed to the ferry.
After an hour of walking with luggage, we finally arrived at the ferry at half past 6. Boarding and then straight to the cabin and slept. Yep, we were exhausted 😅 in the late afternoon, everyone woke up again, had dinner together, and waited for the ferry to arrive in Turku. After the two-hour bus ride to Tampere, everyone arrived home well at half past 12 at night.
It was a gigantic trip and a lot of fun and worth it!
Tired greetings from Tampere
Carina
